If you use a zone/stim to supplement your bandages in boss fights the extra damage will likely "protect" you better by killing the boss faster, meaning less chances to slip up and get caught in a really nasty attack. If you regen out of combat you gain nothing from having more hp. But the difference is still fairly small and we don't have any "burst regen" that's viable to use between enemy attacks. Regen is a little different because its metric is "full heal in X seconds" so having more health does make it stronger. Bandages always heal for a fixed amount which is already far lower than your max health so you can spam them in dps gear for the same healing efficiency. It's specifically because of the abundant healing that +health on armour is nigh worthless.
